Hello Hotel Womb,
Recently found this site and decided to join after reading many of the great posts... A bittersweet Church “experience” rekindled my interest in the band not long ago. I saw they were playing my home city in NC during their recent tour (yay)… but I saw the show listing about a week AFTER the band appeared (ack).
That spurred me to pull out Heyday and Starfish, two albums that received loads of play during my college years. ... Immediate reaction: "How did I let The Church get away from me for so long??!"... So glad for this rediscovery. What an amazing group. Have started buying the 1990s and 2000s releases I missed the first time around (This sounds like a common theme amongst the newbies here.).... Lately my favorite track is "Louisiana" and my favorite CD is After Everything Now This. (Quite the bewitching, sublime album.)… Maybe I’ll get lucky and they’ll pay another visit to my town on the talked-about fall tour. Fingers crossed.
