Now this is harder than I thought. With U#23 and AENT the songs were "relatively" new to me, especially with U#23. Both of those albums are very dear to me but there was no ultra-deep relationship yet, but with Starfish it´s another matter. To me Starfish is pretty much perfect even by the usual standards of The Church. There is nothing I would change about it but most of that must be down to being so familiar with it. This is the album that I would have to choose as my all-time favourite. Months might go without listening to it but sometimes it´s even unnecessary as the songs live inside me anyway. Sometimes when I´m on the bus and I see an office tower in the fog and "Gray stands the tower in the distance" is the line that comes to my mind. At the supermarket stuff like "Do you accept my card, Or can I pay for it now in cold, hard cash?" is sometimes inevitable. I saw this empty lot between the houses many times and "In the space between our houses some bones have been discovered" is the line what I´m thinking about over and over again. I´m a Starfish-baby all right, I can´t deny that. With this album the songs I might vote as the winners in some matches might be totally strange and it will be hard to tell the logic behind the votes at least in the opening rounds. When the tournament takes some shape I might see how this game should be played but until now my mind is spinning after spinning Starfish too many times and trying to see it from new angles.
