As I'm currently laid up with a damaged (now repaired) Achilles Tendon with time on my hands I thought I scope the Internet for one of my favourite bands that I'd lost touch with, the journey leads me here.
Found some fantastic articles, comments and gigs already. Hope I can contribute in the future.
A bit more about myself, in the last few years I've rediscoved my passion for music (probably due to my two kids getting older,16 and 18, and dragging me to gigs and raiding my cd collection and decorating their rooms with vinyl album sleeves).
Anyway, passion restored, I bought myself a new drum kit and got together with a few friends who I used to gig with and started rehearsing and making a noise. My bassist friend Frank got me back on track with The Church after a 15 year sojourn (raising family, work etc) and an old school friend (who is a wonderful guitarist and a huge Church devotee) turned up out of the blue and kicked my arse into shape with some of the later material (post 1995). I've a lot of catching up to do and as you are all aware the back catalogue is huge due to the prolific nature of the band but it's going to be like discovering The Church all over again, I'm looking forward to it.
These Isles yearn for a decent Church tribute to distract us from the grind (seeing that the real thing rarely visits anymore).
It might be time for just that to happen once I'm off crutches! Anybody play rhythm??
