I listened to them sporadically over the years (mainly the first six albums) then about three years ago my friend turned me on to some of the post-Starfish albums, and since then I've been slowly collecting what I can...I'm just amazed at how prolific these guys are! It's rare for a band to get better with time. I really love the '83-'86 period, but their 2000s albums are really starting to grow on me. I've been lurking on here for a few days and downloaded a couple of live shows, and today I decided to join. Anyway, I won't ramble but I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone on here better!

I'm a huge fan of Depeche Mode, U2, Bunnymen, Cure etc, and without exception, all of their recent output has disappointed me to some degree. What the Church has been able to pull off in the past decade is maybe unprecedented in rock history. What Kilbey and Co. have been able to do in just the past 2 years is astonishing in terms of both quantity and quality, and bodes well for the future.

I have the box set and rarely listen to discs 3 and 4. I can't believe how good the last few Church albums have been though...makes me wanna get my hands on everything they put out. I loved all of Steve's banter (patter) between songs at the Raleigh show. How about the Lithuanian tour manager story?

I was also thinking of another story he told about the 'chocolate stealing' by The Mighty Lemondrops. Funny stuff! Wasn't there also a story about Echo and the Bunnymen? Personally I prefer the 2000s incarnation of the Church best, but I still love the iconic early records. across the endless sky we are deployed
