It was a great show with great stories. I took "some" and will post on here as I peruse them. Maybe I can post a "Many faces of Kilbey" and "Many faces of Koppes" photo for fandorin. I wonder where that thread is....

"push off the top."
we've got to grind/grind it out. another one. I am fairly certain this is during the introduction to "Louisiana," based on the photo after this of Marty pointing to a dude in the audience, while saying, "I bet he can [speak like he's from Birmingham, Alabama]." I still don't know exactly how "louisiana" ties in with the mighty lemon drops.

thanks for the comments, John. Jim, i miss you, man. I had a good weekend despite the driving and the rolling SUVs. As for the church photos, yeah, they are finally tagged, but a lot of the shots are very similar. I wanted to shoot enough to cover for eyes half closed, blurry in the wrong places, bad angles, etc, so it's not like I have 300 different shots. I have about 75-100 or so different shots/angles, and certainly they are not all that great. Maybe 25 worth showing, I have no idea. I'd like the band to see a few. I should send 'em an email. I really haven't pored over the photos because May is the busiest month of my life, every year. Happily, Stressed, Busy.
For now...I've a couple of different shots I prefer that no one else will, this among them: |

I should add that the only picture I manipulated in anyway was the very first one, which I straightened out. That photo is surreal to me, by the way. It looks somehow calm, which is what the church concert has sort of become, probably to many folk's chagrin. we're of that age where it's unbecoming to express yourself because it is embarassing. Or, well, we're just old folks now.
Yesterday I went to Indy for the Indy500 parade, but took more photos at the James Whitcomb Riley Museum/House than at the parade. This was taken in his backyard. "In a solemn night of summer, When my heart of gloom Blossomed up to meet the comer Like a rose in bloom; All the forebodings that distressed me I forgot as joy caressed me -- (Lying joy that caught and pressed me In the arms of doom!)." from Leonainie. |

nice, there's got to be at least a part-time career there in food porn.
ending the month with a fluorish: first, our winner of the Indy 500, Dario Franchitti, with his wife Ashley Judd (I had no idea she was married to Dario Franchitti). hell, I didn't even know who Dario Franchitti was. ![]() |
