Are we certain that's him? I've seen pics from it before and don't recall MWP having just a moustache at the event

I looked at the Rickenbacker 75th Anniversary Event slideshow here: http://www.rickenbacker.com/75thss.asp
It took quite a long time to load. Lots of pics including the usual suspects like Matthew Sweet, Susanna Hoffs, Peter Buck, The Smithereens and even Lemmy. Here is a screen capture of MWP and his Ric. MWP had quite a lot of exposure in the slideshow. btw. this happened in 2006 so it´s not exactly fresh stuff and MWP´s appearance has changed a lot since. 
He drums impatient fingers on the chrome and on the leather

that slideshow was really cool, thanks for posting! i'm still not sure what Susanna Hoffs ever did to deserve a signature Ric, besides being just being Susanna Hoffs.... but i suppose on some levels, that's enough..... |

i have a cool JetGlo (black) Rick Comstock acoustic that looks like the one Marty is playing (minus the armguard piece)...in fact, Paul W. did some restoration work on it recently....it's a great sounding instrument! jim

That's a nice acoustic Ric but Marty's acoustic rig is gaffers tape with some residual amount of Takemine wood and metal(for their resonating properties).In an abundantly stickered polypropylene case.
