That would be really handy. Nobody probably knows yet or is allowed to say what kind of item it is. Anyway, this sounds exactly my kinda box set! I was informed that the Steve Kilbey box set will be: - a slim box set including 6 pre-Painkiller albums. (Acoustic & Intimate dropped?) - CD´s will be in slim digipaks. - Just one thick booklet for all the 6 albums. With photos and liner notes too. - Limited run done only once, so have some cash ready in March/April if you want/need it. Nothing is set in stone so far but it will resemble something like the recent Robyn Hitchcock-boxsets. A real announcement and description of the contents will be out in mid-february. This is the first box set treatment for The Church-related music and it´s about SK solo works. This is actually the first box set that I could think of getting and enjoying for a long time. I confess that I don't have the sort of loose cash available to purchase stuff that I've already bought on vinyl and cd. Depends on the price for me, but sadly a boxset is likely to be out of my reach. I may weaken though!! This month I intend to buy the singer-bassist dvd though.

I´m just thinking that music is pretty much the only hobby that I spend money on, even if it´s old fashioned these days to spend anything on it. Some books too but not so much. Music is not that expensive like motorcycles if I order some stuff every now and then. If you have this stuff already, as most of the people here do, then it´s hard to justify the purchase of this box. New churchy stuff will come out this year anyway. I had been looking at them in iTunes, but then they suddenly disappeared recently. Read about the re-release/box set soon after and it all started to make sense.

You can download all the about 100 songs available there with the introduction credits and a subscription of a month or two. MP3, no DRM, cheaper and better than iTunes. Including rarities like Pocket, Miss V and the first Gilt Trip ambient album. That is still not the real deal. A stack of MP3´s and perhaps selfmade CD-r covers is never as good as a real CD. Most KH albums seem to be "deleted" or "discontinued by the manufacturer". There hasnt been anything new on KH for ages. JLK, everything ok!? ...and you can buy Dabble on Amazon for 120 dollars. Every song is given some exposure even if it´s a b-side. I just wonder how much better these new liner notes could be? Also, is the box set reissue still too close to the previous set of reissues? I must admit cash is a little tight at the moment, especially to buy stuff I already have. I've the vinyl versions, the original first issues on cd (Red Eye, Ryko, Viscious Sloth and Rough Trade) and the remastered versions as well.........Box painting looks great though! C'mon Stevie release some of those old demo's! Seriously, looks a great collection for anyone who didn't get them first time around. Now....... Remindlessness......There's one stunning album................

I thought buying the whole SK-album collection once in cheapo MP3´s would be enough but you really show what a true fan is. I was just at the record store (not so usual these days anymore) and I saw that this slimboxset had become a phenomenon. There was many bands with 5 albums in cardboard sleeves in slim boxes with a 25 euro price tag. I almost took the Echo & The Bunnymen collection of early albums as I have resisted all the previous 100 or so compilations and box sets. Maven Posts: 28 (02/13/2010 13:59) Maven Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Hi Chrome3D, I'm not really some kind of superfan or anything like that, just really dig the music, since the early eighties..for instance what happened with say 'Narcosis' was I got the original digipak ep thing, then the Narcosis+ thing came out on Viscious Sloth with extra tracks..I can hear it now, 'They serve amnesia'.! Then it became Narcosis ++ I suppose!.Nice surprise for me tho was that the Narcosis + was signed by SK. As for mp3s I've never downloaded one single track, apart from the unreleased stuff on Karmic Hit. Suppose I'm old fashioed, but I prefer to have the actual artifact with sleeve notes and artwork etc. Recently got hold of the Priest=Aura remastered thingymabob.....that's awesome. Hologram Of Baal sounds cosmic on a decent hi-fi.living, proof that these guys know how to use the studio as an extension of their creative talents.I think it oozes electrical static bliss and burns out from the speakers.a triumph I tell you! I'll blow for now, gotta catch the show etc.best from Astronboy.
