If you are so curious then why don´t you just e-mail the people in charge? Sometimes they are very helpful and will tell you exactly what´s happening.

I don't know. The last time I e-mailed KH, I never got a reply back. Of course, my e-mail could have just been overlooked.

Bugger!! Shitty dumps like GM or Germany's banks are saved with tax money, while KH goes out of business...

yes sometimes i am. i started wondering when SK/MK didnt come out on KH, and the Box Set is going to be on 2nd Motion AFAIK...
It's a real real real shame. Their mail order was fast, reliable, cheap (Churchmurch...duh!), and the music mostly heavyweight...however, I am quite excited about a new Bhagavad Guitars CD - the old ones were great, and a little bit of resurrection can be cool! Fando |

Had to order some stuff. These times are filled with sad news and lately I feel like there hasn´t been a week without scavenging some corpse of a music industry. Big or small. Loads of cheap stuff available but where does it lead eventually?

This is depressing news. I was actually still looking forward to the potential releases "The Best of the Crystal Set" and "The Best of the Bhagavad Guitars", as well as the new B.G. release (at least that's still coming). I was hoping there were still some copies left of "Big Spaceship", but it seems I missed that one completely. But what memories... I still remember playing e-mail tag with JLK when I was trying to buy SK's "Skeptic Glance" self portrait back in 2004, and how excited I was when I got it. And looking forward to the new releases.
More and more independent labels seem to be either closing shop or being bought out by other bigger labels. I just hope that when we reach the point where you can only download music, they finally have high speed internet where I live.

"Karmic Hit previews & rarities" is actually a really nice CD. White embossed cover is ubercool and really stylish. 20 songs, most of them high quality (Jack Frost) and some of them just fun (Tricka Tricka Boom Boom Song). Couple of SK rarities too and just a great vibe. Very much like Esoteric Music Club V 0.5. Plenty of liner notes too. I´m a happy customer.

Big Spaceship is downloadable from Martins blog site www.martinlkennedy.com if you want it AE.
I'm also very sad about the labels demise. Was a great set up. P&R 1 is a fantastic album and the giveaway P&R 2 and 3 were very good too (all with essential SK rarities). The EMC stuff last year worked really well I thought and there were plans for a 2nd season at some point. Great service always as well - someone mentioned that Churchmerch could learn a thing or 2 from KH. Couldn't agree more! |

Thanks for the info!
I was thinking, if JLK's big issue is having to get the CDs printed, etc. why not just make KH a download-only site? That way, they could still keep selling the old releases in a format that doesn't require all the CD pressing and everything else. Just a thought.
