Allright! Thanks for the info. The cover is just about the one I had there only sharper. Ordered Operetta already and some other stuff and orthodox-t-shirt
too. Airmail promised it will cost a lot but I can´t wait. It will be the best xmas gift for myself.
No Church. - No, but a live DVD will be released...somewhere around 2020 with this pace... Cold. - Yes Wet. - Yes Bald. - Not yet Fat. - Yes Back to work tomorrow. - Not bad monday so far. No Operetta ep. - There is now and it will arrive before christmas. Bugger. - It could be worse.

Cool. Ordered mine today. It will probably go up on iTunes before it gets here, and I'll buy and hear it from there first. But I like CDs for travel
(holiday), and many miles lie ahead.

Particles (Matter) All Get Quite Excited... | ||
|
I get quite excited when then Church release additional tracks from recording sessions. I often find that I enjoy these as much as the albums and sometimes
more. Check out the brilliance of tracks like "Twin Stars", "Snowfaller", all of "Bastard Universe" and "Cantilever"
to name a few. Releases like these are why The Church are the greatest band in the world...along with Steve Kilbey's other worldly crooning, the deep
space blues guitar interplay between MWP and Peter Koppes, constant Kilbey throb on bass and Tim Powles heavy pounding. Yeah, they are unlike any band in the
world. Didn't New York Times say, "best guitar band in the world"? I couldn't agree more. Bring on Particles Matter.

Just sent for mine! While I was there, I also sent for the remastered "Shriek", and a t-shirt from the North American tour - the shirt, in fact, I
was about to buy at the Buffalo show when SK showed up at the merch table, so I got a little sidetracked! Oh well, better late than never I guess!

I'm twitching like a drunk in a pharmacy waiting for my EP to come. The only thing that quells the pangs is high dosages of "Some Love My Find
Us" . How brilliant is this b-side? I think it trumps anything on U23. 17 minutes and 48 seconds of pure poetic bliss. Does "Particles
Matter" even come close?

I'm expecting something more along the lines of Jammed with Particles Matter and am more looking forward to the other 2 vocal tracks myself. Would be good
if someone who has received this would share first impressions though...

Xenos on the Seance list says this:
i picked up the new cd single ep thing... first impressions: silhouette in meltdown is a groovy droney track... it sounds like a jam with an overdubbed sk vocal... too filler for the album but a neat b-side from the sessions... moon hangs in black sounds like it was based on the guitar chord volume swell transitions from destination... i imagine they were rehearsing destination and then something else developed... particle matters is the long instrumental jam... i guess i'd describe it as similar in tone and vibe to night sequence without the vocals... but don't trust that last description too much because i kind of lost focus after 10 mins, so anything could have happened after that... just don't expect so love may find us either... |

definitely agree with the above description of Silhouette In Meltdown (wouldn't use the word "filler" though) - same vocal style as night
sequence
Moon Hangs in Black is a keeper - love it Particles Matter held my attention for the full 35mins - already listened to it more than so love my find us |

Release date is 26th January 2010 from Second motion. That´s the right way, makes me anxious to get the CD first, not just download it. Is it in iTunes already or is that January too?

19 days since ordering the damn thing and all it can say in Churchmerch that it´s preparing the order. 19 days? I know that it might land on my mailbox any day
and the website still says it´s preparing. It´s a bit needless to say that there is a certain elements in the distribution of The Church- records that needs
some serious upgrading...

operetta EP | ||
|
Got mine a few days ago. Been the only CD in my car since. Operetta sounds the same. That's a good thing I would say. Near perfect. Track 2 is a forward
4/4 rocker with cool lyrics, and 3 is more ambient but with a wah effect on one guitar and a cool delivery from Steve. The instrumental is a bit more frantic
than some of the other jam material. Not a lot of dynamics, but some truly interesting moments for die-hard fans and music lovers with the knowledge that
it's all spontaneous and off the cuff. If in the right frame of mind, perhaps the jazzier sort, the jam tracks by the church, with Chaos, and MATS as the
first non-instrumentals to lean on the method, have fallen under their own banner over the years and I dig it.
