After I tagged every churchy item (including solo and sideprojects) in my collection I got this data:
112 albums, 1046 tracks, 3 days + 10:28:09, 8,78 GB I bet someone can make it better.

My collection is almost 20 years big, cost an awful lot of money and I still love it to bits. I still love the sight of the CDs and LPs aligned in my shelf...

Missus m says size isn't important.
Are you allowed to count all the duplicates? I'm ashamed to say I have many (most) things twice...some three times.....just in case. A "friend" kept my copy of Dabble and it took me 2 years to replace the bloody thing. However, I have very, very few bootleggy things etc 'cos I can hardly use this blessed information technology thingy. Having said that I'd hate to think how much in todays money I've spent over the years...but worth every bloomin' penny!! |

Duplicates are so so. For instance I have all PK albums and then the compilation songs again. Technically a different album there. I was too lazy to separate
the rare songs. I could also include The Church songs from original CD´s and then remastered songs but I haven´t done that. That would make the collection
bloat considerably. Also Deep in The Shallows songs could technically be different songs as there are single mixes. I´m still a bit behind on all remixes. I
haven´t even ripped Feel CD-single because Feel ragga-mix etc. were not that cool. Now that I think of it there is no point being a completist because there is
simply no way to have everything.

A very interesting topic, thanks! I have been collecting for about 24 years now and try to grab anything I can find. After obtaining the Trocadero show from
this site, I have reached 111 "albums" (many are double CD sets). I do not have stats on the number of tracks or playing time, but it must be similar
to yours. Happy collecting. Hitspacebar, Bob

I am not gonna count it all up but suffice to say even MWP, when visiting my place, came across an item or 3 he didn't have or knew even existed.. still
far from complete though; there's always a contribution to another artist's album or production job here and there.

Wow!, that is a lot of albums and tracks. When I collected actual vinyl and CD releases I dont think I was near 112, a lot of things like Hex or Fake I purchased and then resold. Today its all downloads for two reasons. 1-I travel a lot and like to make my own versions of the albums and remove what I dont like. 2-I dont have the money anymore to buy everything, so now I pick and choose based on which tracks I want. Marty has an excellent site for downloading his tracks, some early solo albums were spotty at best. I was able to download the songs I like and make a new album with Spirit Level and selected songs form the other three earlier releases. So I do that with most releases, albums + b-sides etc. with that in my mind I have:
505 tracks that I really want to have. It does make me wonder what I am missing from chromes 1,046, thats 541 I do not have. Interesting post now I am perplexed. |

According to the A-Z song list on the discography there are a total of 643 Church or solo songs (includes 338 Church songs) which doesn't include the DMH tracks so read 647/342 if you like. This doesn't include side projects like Jack Frost, Isidore, Hex, Fake, All About Eve etc.
So with bootlegs, and what have you Chromes total is pretty impressive. Interesting (in the loosest possible sense...) things to come out of the count up include: All Church and SK songs starting with U actually start Un... There are no Church/related songs starting with X or Z

I have approximately 800 tracks between foobar2000 and lala collections. I'm counting bootlegs, studio albums, and solo stuff by Steve, Marty, and Peter too.

Just checked in iTunes. 118 albums, 1136 songs, 3.6 days.
Actually there is a load of stuff I haven't gotten around to ripping yet. Maybe I'll finish it off over the next few weeks and get back. Brian |

Does that include original and remastered versions of the same albums? I have deleted the original CD versions and there is only the remastered versions. Do you have live stuff counted there too?
If I remove all duplicates and songs that are not exactly churchy (for example all 9 GB3-songs without SK) then it´s 916 songs.

I don't have the remastered disks at all. That does include a few CD singles and a couple of best-of and compilation disks that does double up some tracks.

i guess i've got a reasonably chunky collection of church and side project music but i'm not an officianado....although i do have a couple of rare ep's on vinyl....will that do for rock credibility?
y'know, these guys are the only ones that i can play on my i pod and they will unfailingly transport me to another place, no matter where i am (can be a wee bit dangerous if i'm not careful).... i notice that we don't use the emoticons (or whatever they're called at the bottom of the screen)....is this because we are all Serious Grown-Up People around here? |

The use of emoticons would make the interpretations of the post too simple. We are all used to see at least double or even triple meanings in the songs. The moods can also change from happy to sad or from angry to friendly in a flash. Therefore it is better to leave the posts without emoticons or at least restrict their use.

I have about 85 albums/EPs/singles/whatever of Church/side-project stuff. Virtually all on CD, vinyl or even in a few cases tape (shudder); I don't buy albums in electronic form. As regards the main band I am a completist at song level but not at version or release level, so if a compilation comes out containing only stuff I already have (perhaps some songs in different versions) I usually do not bother buying it. Have not attempted a song count.
