Even if all my pets weren't "exotics" (three budgies, a cockatiel, six hermit crabs and a six-year-old betta) they'd still be strange....

So - what are you doing right now? |

I'm sitting here watching my biggest (and most indecisive, apparently) hermit crab switch back and forth between two different shells. He's switched
back and forth five or six times in the past ten minutes. I think he finally decided to stick with his old one, though.

What a neat subject.
I'm drinking coffee and listening to the city wake up while emailing my brother MP3s of the great album "In The Time Of The Sugar Pines" by the band The North Sea. |

Sadly, I'm listening to overtired children cry. Now I'm going upstairs to help my poor husband deal with said children.

Listening to my cockatiel complaining because his cage door is not open. It's a little too late at night and a little too stormy right now for that.
And no, Charybdis ended up keeping his old shell. Right now he's also the only one visible. Starfish, Scylla, Hawthorne, Seance and Terra Nova Cain are somewhere under the driftwood by the heater, keeping warm. I'm kind of envying them. It's 78F in there and 63F out here.

Crunchy organic musli is my favourite. I eat it almost every day with milk. There is no raisins or other fruits, I just add some. It´s more important to me
than spacerock actually, as I can survive without spacerock but I can´t survive without food, right?
That smiley is nice because it has a tongue. Like he is licking milk from his
chin.

Kids have departed for school. It's my first full day of being 38 years old. I want so badly to return to bed.
All of last night's dishes from dinner and dessert are waiting in the kitchen. All the bills are waiting. Maybe I'll reward myself with a nap later.

Inspired by Chromie, I'm making granola. But in our house we leave out the raisins and use dried sour cherries instead. Far better.

Is it bad that I thought that was funny?
And I'd substitute dried cranberries for the raisins. Raisins, in my opinion, are a serious waste of grapes. Brought in all my houseplants for the season this weekend. Also got "treated" to the sight of my rather portly next-door neighbor mowing his lawn in a Speedo. I think I need a taller hedge...

Wondering if "Transient" will sync up with the malfunctioning car alarm down the street. Nothing off "From The Well" quite did.
Nope. About a beat and a half off. In the neighbor's defense, they do keep running out and turning it off, but every time a car goes by, it trips again. And the car is in their driveway, not parked on the street.

Hi,
I was going to put this in a separate topic but, I'm not an attention hog. Therefore, since I've been actually thinking about what I'm about to write for days now & it fits appropriately w/ this topic, I guess I'll post it here for a thought then....here goes nothing: Has anyone here travelled to Australia (& is obviously not from there nor has any form of "connections)? If so, what advices/cheap sites/etc. can you provide? See, I'm 1/2 way through my "retirement" years at my job. Therefore, I was thinking of "rewarding" myself w/ a trip since I've made it "this" long & I'm only 36. Plus, never married nor having any kids I can actually "afford" it. Any suggestions? My 2nd thought coincides w/ this thought for today....anyone here just "tired" emotionally of the whole reality-attention-seeking-social"networking" things (such as Facebook/MySpace)? Have you ever just decided to pull the plug on it all, move-on & not care what anyone thought of you once you left? Just asking... |

I've never been to Australia, but I have considered pulling the plug on the online thing. It lasts a day or two, then I get bored and return. The last time
thought about simplifying, I inherited a bulletin board that I've loved for 10 years, so you're all stuck with me.
As for what I'm doing now... I'm contemplating sleep and wishing I'd have finished sorting the photos of my family going back to my great-great-grandparents. I plan to scan them soon. |

Listening to the baby make very strange grunts, groans, and barks in his sleep early this morning...
Elizabeth, take the trip... I like the sense of connectness that I find here at the womb. I don't care so much for Facebook, which often seems just like a time waster. I feel I have more in common with people here. |

I just ate some biscuits with a hint of blueberry in them. Strange combo but I feel so much healthier already.
I try to animate a roll of paper getting bigger. Watching the sun going to the other side of the building behind the trees. Facebook, yeah, I wish there was something more. What is the idea of adding yourself as a fan of something that never updates itself?
