I have no idea what Black Friday's sale is.

Brian, 'Black Friday' is the day after our Thanksgiving holiday when all the stores have big sales, often beginning at the crack of dawn. It's
regarded as a chaotic, frenzied sort of Christmas shopping bedlam.
Thanks, Miss Flores. I did not shop today.

I avoid the stores at all costs for days following Thanksgiving. I'm almost finished with Christmas shopping anyway.

Apparently businesses do about 1/3 of their yearly business on this day. I experienced 'Black Friday" for the first time and I can say it was well
worth the experience. However, I feel no need whatsoever to do it again. I had an enjoyable time actually, if only because I was walking around with my wife,
away from our lovely The deals aren't worth the lines, and truth be told, it's all about having stuff, and having stuff is not what life is about. Life is about these
relationships, and I had a great time with my wife while my kids were sleeping at their grandma's house.

Well, I really rather to spend with my bf and his parents at MS, instead of waiting in line inside of WalMart too...But he lives 1000 miles away, so
There were no much sale advertised in this year, but I got my HDTV at 200 dlls and a MP3/SD/USB player at 50 bucks, so, I get what I expected... Although one year ago (when the people threw the crystal doors down and put two ladies laying on the floor), WalMart decided to make lines inside the store, instead putting the customers on a waiting line outside (like the other businesses, such as Best Buy, Staples or KMart)... I went to WalMart (located at South Padre Island Highway) at 12 am and get my HDTV at 5.30...It was a completely chaos, even my sister was pleading for my secureness...It's like, the last thing of the human perversions...Like my mother told me, I kept calmed down in the whole Black Friday but, yes, there's people mostly from Mexico, buying goods to send to mexican territories (although the customs allowed you pass a 150 dlls worth on merchandise per person and 400 dlls on merchandise per car)... But when I see my stuff on my HDTV, I guess that it worth the every penny that I spend from my account (now in ZERO balance)... |

I avoid the stores anytime I know there are more people than normal there.
No shopping whatsoever on that date, other than buying some ammunition online that day
And I would NEVER shop at a Wal-Mart on such a day - it's like Night Of The Living Dead there on the best of days....too many zombies after the holidays. |

Absolutely ridiculous to try & shop that day. Kohl's was open at 4am! WTF?
I can see how people can get hooked into it though... If you have 4 kids & Christmas is coming up, these sales can make a huge difference. There are really bargain prices. Me? I stay away from the crowds at all costs... Even if I have to pay more on a slower day, but I'm not really a big consumer anyways. |
