Beer. It was the staple drink of the Egyptians who lived in the time of the Pharaohs. It was brewed by the Incas. Its appeal has never diminished. I sipped a stout at the Oldenberg brewery in Cincinnati, as I talked with Marty Willson-Piper (bringing the conversation into Churchdom). I had to smile, at an Atlanta show, when MWP said something about (Rogue Breweries) Dead Guy Ale, an off-and-on favorite of mine. What I want to know is: WHAT ARE YOU DRINKING? WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE?
I do not condone alcoholism, but I am a beer-lover.
My favorites include Guinness (mother's milk)--the Celtic KING of all brews -draught, bottle, new draught bottle, etc..., Negra Modelo (madre's milk)
-- Mexican brewed dark beer, lovely brown-amber hue, not heavy at all, goes down easily [I've turned a certain fellow Womber onto this lovely elixir], Bishop's Finger--a Kentish Ale, not far-removed from the afforementioned N.M., Portland Breweries Haystack Black--a porter, I'm afraid they won't be making this divine pitch-black goodness anymore , and a few others.
I know Ann is a dark beer afficionado, Severian and Abram (and MWP) are fellow Guinness lovers.....
Remember, one dark beer every day provides a tangible health benefit (cholesterol reduction, heart-helping flavinoids, etc....).

Pyramid beers are usually quite nice. I used to love their ESB, but it tastes too flowery now. They make a winter brew (Snow Cap, is it?), which I recall LOVING.
What was that Homer Simpson quote?
