Maven Posts: 28 (06/20/2007 08:25) Maven Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None Remove this ad Just a suggestion here.....Does anyone fancy putting together a project of all Church live recordings and documenting them with sleeves with all the music and info on them? I'm not sure how this would go down but it would be interesting. Now I know these recordings are strictly illegal but they do exist, it's a shame to let them lie. We could put warnings on the sleeves about no money changing hands and that they are not for sale under any circumstances whatsoever.....Maybe a bad idea I'll probably have the management on my case and be sent to hell. What does anyone else think?

How about a project team from members of this board get together (one's with the recordings/or extensive knowledge of the recordings) and decide which shows are to be collated first. I'm the newbie here so I'm in the dark about all this! We could say do the shows in a series (say 12-15 whatever) and they wouldn't have to be in chronological order (in case new old stuff appears). We could have each series in a certain layout style etc. If I'm to do the artwork or anyone else who's interested I/They would need all track details and band info etc. I suspect this could all be a large task but well worth the effort....maybe each series could be presented to The Church members as well, along with some payment? These are just a few ideas.....anyone else care to add? Does anyone fancy overseeing the project? much to think about......see ya later.

I can help with track listings and I recommend you start with the best quality recordings as some are pretty ordinary. I really dont think the band cares to much about boot recordings, very few are of commercial quality and no money ever changes hands. Joffa

We would need a title for the whole project and a few of the members to decide which recordings are to be done first. 'Volumes' could be a starting point or anything you wish. We would also need someone with webspace and the skills to post the images on (not the recordings). I'm trying to picture this as some kind of definitive Church bootleg archive. Also there could be interviews from radio etc.This could work really well but I can't put all this together myself!

Since there's so much setlist duplication during any given Church tour, it'd be great if the best one or two shows per tour (plus any significant one-off shows) could be identified and then treed out to/from us. Of course this is all just sooo easy for me to suggest, considering my live/rarities Church collection consists of the GAF demos, the Basement show from a couple years back and a scratched-all-to-hell, sometimes-playable-and-sometimes-not copy of one of Steve's Borderline shows. I've just the one boot from an old NYC show (you've already got it) but am very happy to share with others. If some system could be set up for us, that would not break Hotel Womb rules or annoy the band, I think that would be a terrific idea. As of now, I'm basically on the outside looking in here. Seba has kindly replied to my earlier post so hopefully he can help me out. Thank heaven for this site! It's like a cyber home for Church fans.
