Its mainly because I always have so much to listen to(yeah i know I sound big headed but when 4 of my mates keep burning cds for me....to add with the ones I purchase....it amounts to alot) Finally I succumbed to everyones posts /emails regarding the music done by the wombers. I asked Tony to send me some of his cds.He did...as ever a 'gentle'man! Tony sent me the summer sampler,Breaking,and the Church covers/various womb members cds. I only received them yesterday.....so I've only had time to listen to Breaking so far. I think I've heard Breaking some 6 times already. To say that I'm impressed is an understatement. First impressions ...I thought I was going to have a problem with Tony's vocals ,but not only am I used to his voice now ,I actually think his style is truly unique. The folky tracks mixed with Tony's brooding deep voice fit in perfectly in the Gothic/Americana scene that has quite a following today.Think of bands like The Handsome Family and Willard Grant Conspiracy. The amazing thing is as far as I can recall Tony never mentioned the above bands or genre of music.......so he probably doesn't know it himself!!!! The standout tracks on Breaking are 'fondness,' 'a few more angels,'( a superb number) and 'stadium.' The instrumental track shows how versatile Tony's guitar playing is. I'm not too keen on the last 3 tracks on the cd but hey even The Church have their off days....and aferall its only my opinion. But overall this is a great effort which i really recommend to everyone. jean

Favourites off breaking for me are so deeply drawn and a few more angels which actually puts a lump in my throat. On top of all this he is a great guy as well. Joffa

Breaking and the Summer 2001 sampler are residing in my 6 CD player, quite happily I might add. I was suprised not only in how damn good the music was but also how much the styles could vary. My only complaint is he seems to seldom record and his back catalogue is very sparse.

I for one haven't totally digested and internalised "Dust" yet to fully comment on it although it sounds great on first couple of listens. However, for those of you who just can't get enough Pucci (and lets face it, who can?) Tony and I have worked together on a track called "Witness Me". Upon the first listen I'm reminded of Leonard Cohen and the Refo:mation. Sounds emerging from the mix like shapes in the fog. Not a Sunday morning song. Love the bassline. The tribal/world sounds are an interesting addition. The vocals are dark and deep. The lyrics, which seem to have preceeded the music (am I right in my assumption?) are superb. Posts: 5 (12/07/2001 11:44) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Remove this ad Maybe I arrived too late to discuss on this topic .After all I didn't listen any effort by the wombers when they decide to make music.I 've just listened to" Shoreline Gold " by Longhouse(good name for a band, there was a french band who's called themselves Lighthouse).Frankly, I must say I've been shock resistant with the song.In my opinion , it's not crapy at all, there are good moments but I have a problem with the voice of mister Black .What a sad voice.And the solo guitar seems out of purpose.But I won't be too critical because I don't think to be a good musician.To make music is very courageous and sing is the worth part to play.I mean it's very difficult.I will dare If I could. Of course I remember you PS5/Froggy Man/Homme Grennouille. Personally, I love the solo in Shoreline Gold. Impressionistic and wandering. I'll admit, that song is not one that all people immediately connect with, but I think it will grow on you. Our album will (hopefully) be complete ie. mastered and printed in January .....or February. I'll make sure you get a copy. I have to agree with Tony (don't tell him); I'm impressed and inspired by the high quality of the music and musicians I've met here at the Womb. She lost a part of her brain due to a tumour and god has since rendered her truthful to the nth. Unlike me who he rendered aesthetically displeasing. I personally like it a lot more than "shoreline gold"...and I like "shoreline gold"! "all the stars" is a little piece of pop perfection, if you ask me, with a great melody and instumentation. Space Saviour Posts: 1595 (12/09/2001 10:24) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tony: your package arrived yesterday, while I was in Missoula all day under the pretence of holiday shopping for my lovely wife (actually I was also drinking a few beers with an old college buddy) Anyway, I've listened to Dust twice now and I like Little Child and This Time the best so far. Little Child has a really nice theme, the guitars are great too. This Time, I like the eastern sounds, they work good in this song. The Key is kind of dreamy I like it, it is very melodic. As If Your Ways is a really nice arrangement, but it needs a female voice or something playing off of your vocals. I don't know... Maybe you could get Harriet Wheeler to sit in. Actually I could see Harriet singing along side of you on most of the tracks, I bet you could too, buddy You have her phone number? Anyway, the whole thing fits together quite nicely, you should be proud of yourself. I plan on listening to it a lot at work. The last four or five tracks are very strong. Thanks, I'll get to the rest of the disc this week. I haven't even listened to Tarkio yet, Dust is the only thing I've listened too. Tony P.S. We'll deal with Uncle Fester later, Witness Me is still haunting me.

Its great to find Tony experimenting more with electronic/ethnic sounds ,some of the arrangments are refreshing and come in a real surprising manner. (tony listen to that Third Eye Foundation track on my compilation). This is tony's beat sounding album to date. ps...the key is also a very good number. so guys......what do you prefer.....early Tony,middle Tony or late tony ?????!!!!!!! Wayne let me be,I ain't feckin'off!

I started smelling this weird smell but I kept on thinking,'no this isn't a gas smell' I was really into the game so i didn't feel like getting up....you know...i had my scotch an'all. Finally I said ..nah this smell is all too much ,so I got up... it was the side of the one of the sofa's catching FIRE !!!!!!!!! My wife who is presently away visiting her family told me 'can I trust you with the house when I'm away?'

Absolute gem of an opening and I appreciate the sine wave melody. Anyone who hasn't heard "Dust" yet should pick up a copy from Tony. It is probably his most dynamic release I have heard to date and he is heading off in all directions concurrently. I was going to do a track by track dissection but just believe me it's good and acquire one. Brian
