Loathed the asthmatic wail-ey-scream-ey vocals, the mascara, the pink man boob on the sleeve and all. Noticed they had some seriously great songs, a few years after. Now don't think I'm a MSP fan but...yes, I think I am, after all. They had always great singles, but the real magic was often hidden deep in the albums. my three eternal MSP favourites: "Be Natural" (kind of counterpart to Myths You Made) "To Repel Ghosts" (burns the Editors to dust) "Everything Must Go" (bloody great Fake-Spector-Wall-Of-Sound, how I want to be the drummer on that one...) And in the end, the mascara and the 4real stuff wasn't so bad at all... ...because strange is what we need Fandorinfotos

I still remember I saw Richie James two times man!!! and I can tell you that that guy was REAL, like Syd Barret. You didnt include any song from the three first albums?????? Come one man! Its their most furious album, the last with Ritchie James. And I guess you can get it at cheap prize!!! One day in an interview, a reporter asked him if Manic Street PReachers were real in their behaviour, ideology, etc., because they have always been very interested in politics, social causes and life in general... (that lyric of "Little Baby Nothing" I've posted a few days ago to respond something is an accurate example of what they think about women "sexplotation"). Do you know what Richey replied? He said "Yes, we are 4 real" and he wrote that sentence ("4 real") ON HIS ARM, with a PENKNIFE. I won't post the photo here, but it's on the internet everywhere. Obviously I don't applaud him for doing that, but I do think he was more real and authentic than much other famous musicians nowadays... And I think he couldn't fit this world. I really hope he's still alive somewhere, and happy above all. Now, related to their music, my favourite album ever is "Generation Terrorists": very GLAM, and I love those guitars. I've tried to reproduce that sound and style with my former band Errol Flynn (without any succes, of course ). "Holy Bible" is a SUPERB album, although it gets some time to be understood maybe. I love "YES" specially. That album sounds soooo Joy Division to me! "Be natural"... What a song... It feels like being in Heaven... BUT "Tsunami" is definitely MY song from that album. And Boriah... Did you say you've seen them with Richey???!??!?!?!??!????? Now I hate you more than ever before...

Errol Flynn was the name of your previous band??? Definetively one of the best names for a band, Errol Flynn was a cock rocker, that guy was pure rocknroll!!!! I think Paula has every album & single they've ever put out on vinyl... Holy Bible is DARK and takes you to a very dark place in the human psyche and history. DARK but REALLY good. I like pretty much all of their stuff, even the last two albums (Know Your Enemy & Lifeblood) have great stuff on them. Don't they have something new coming out?

Their stuff seems to be easily available in used CD format. A Design For Life, Kevin Carter (finally I know what is the title of that song), The Girl who wanted to Be God, Australia...plenty of anthems and preaching all right. Sometimes the lyrics don´t quite fit to the melodies and they seem to be too clever. I don´t mind, it works. Next time I want to find the one with the song 'Tsunami'. They have plenty of tunes that have been loitering in my head but I have been too lazy to really get to know them. He drums impatient fingers on the chrome and on the leather

The new one was alright. Not as good as EMG, but better than 95% of the crap out there. The Holy Bible is on my short term to-buy/get list. I'm relatively new to this band.
