Arcade Fire: Neon Bible. Unexpectedly straight forward, which is okay for the holiday season.

Efterklang: Parades Danish post-rock with chamberpoppish touches. I can see myself digging more of them in the future. Artsy fartsy...but pretentious. He he. Lot to chew.

listened to this after over a decade of not listening to this. compared with todays no 1 albums, it's hard to believe, how a complex, experimental prog-wave-reggae gem like that could go to number one. damn this is a great record with some of the best drumming ever recorded on a pop album... |

Nelly Furtado: Mi Plan New album in spanish and lots of acoustic stuff. Okay glossy background music for a listen or two.

Whoa, Nelly.
Nothing like listening to Waits on a winter's night... |

This months flavour straight from the Winohouse: Paloma Faith. Quite enjoyable album. Instantly likable stuff. Her covers are cool too in an excessive over styled way. Chicks with huge pompadours always get a bonus point from me.

I love everything about this album, from the 60s Cali cover to the last notes of the little extra coda on High Hopes. Even better now, I'm able to use it to lull my little baby boy to sleep. Thanks Neil! ![]() |

I liked the cover of Sleeping On Roads so much that I included it in my list of 25 favourite cover graphics here: http://rateyourmusic.com/list/chrome3d/cover_graphics
It´s an album that I still go back to every now and then. Driving With Bert and See You On Rooftops have stayed on playlists. I´m sorry but this album has lasted on me a lot longer than Souvlaki, which I should have got to known when it came out. THIS IS THE 10 000th post of Why Don´t You Love Me! Give me a prize or something!

![]() Charlotte Gainsbourg: IRM I didn´t get excited about this at all. Run of the mill Beck stuff to me. Her previous album 5:55 looks like a real gem now. Anyway, that´s what I listened today.

![]() TOCOTRONIC - SCHALL UND WAHN. Best german album since don't-know-when. Immaculate lyrics. Great guitars (think Church meet My Bloody Valentine meet Sonic Youth meet The Smiths). Good singing. Can't get enough of this right now. |

Fandorin, I just picked up that Tocotronic album. This is a first for me. I'll let you know what I think after I've given it a few listens. But for me today, an old classic that I really can't recommend highly enough, The Law Of Things by The Bats. If you can't find a copy of this (and if you do find one, expect the sound of the disk to be terrible), try to get a copy of one of their two latest albums, At The National Grid or Guilty Office. A truly exceptional band.

![]() If you're not moved to tears by the last movement, you're probably dead n decaying. From the most tender music you will ever hear, through tumultous n roaring abysses to a wintery solemn, calm and collected peak, a downfall into desperation, which is endured, and a final but modest victory, all in a broad stream, slowly evolving instead of huge contrasts. You won't be the same again! Turn off the lights, lay down on your back, and be enchanted/frightened...whatever

![]() Blonde Redhead: Misery Is a Butterfly It´s pretty steamy-dreamy stuff, to me at least. I dunno if I can listen to it while working, it sounds like a japanese porn-flick...of course I don´t know anything about them...
