THis is the first solo realease by Celibate Rifles frontman Damien Lovelock - who contributes vocals and 12-string guitar - and an all-star band featuring guitarists Peter Koppes and Joe Latty (ex-Itchy Rat), Richard Ploog and bassist Rick Grossman (Hoodoo Gurus/Divinyls). The LP consists of ten tracks -ranging from pop to blues to the esoteric - recorded and mixed over 4 days and produced by ex-Saint Bruce Calloway. It's an excellent LP and has some incredible blues-based guitar work on it by Peter Koppes. One song inparticular "Over You" has an incredibly raw sounding solo on it by Pete. It was re-issued by Hot Records as "Damien Lovelock" with extensive liner notes on the recording process. An obscure little treasure well worth picking up. Rod. I just played this for the first time in ages and it still hangs together well. Very direct, uncluttered playing, a good summer afternoon album. Rod

Damien Lovelock is an interesting an articulate guy. As well as his love of music he has also dabbled in literature with his book What's for Dinner, Dad? a cookbook for sole fathers. It is excellent and heartfelt read. He also writes for various magazines and is a motivational speaker for High School and University students. Danny
