Even to me, as a not-at-all-native-speaker, they had something completely amateurish, with their AABBCCDD-rhyme-scheme. Could the native speakers perhaps explain what is wrong about those lyrics? While Peter Koppes' words may not speak with the same potency as his tremendous guitar playing, they do echo of warmth and humanity and easily outshine anything on the radio. His talent is his own and it's a welcome facet of the Church equation. -N- no method, no guru, no teacher

Yeah, that there Kilbey fellow is pretty good at writing lyrics, eh? I guess I've never thought too much about PK the lyricist, as I think PK the guitarist is amazing. TP

I'm not asking for sublime and I'm not saying I could do better, but I agree with the tenor of this thread that they elicit from me an "eh" response. And there are far worse lyricists out there...
