David, who is being backed by the Cruel Sea rhythm section, will be joined by Peter Koppes for 2 songs including 'Moon Over Water', which he co-wrote with David. The album includes songs mixed by Tim Powles at Spacejunk, and a new version of the (Steven Kilbey/ G Maclennan) Jack Frost song, "providence". David lane played a great gig in two sets, a soft and mellow one and then a more rocky one. Excellent set, great band and brilliant set of covers thrown in in the form of Wilco's 'California Stars', Jack Frost's 'Providence' and Neil Young's 'Rockin' In The Free World' (Noel I think you would have loved this ). The band played for around 2 hours, the song he co-wrote with Pete was played early on sans Peter and it's a beautiful atmospheric piece. Sue, I had several whisky's for you (is that close enough to bourbon?) and was undefeated on the pool table for three hours - after the band had finished of course. Noel, one of the guitarists was playing a Crockenbacker and he let me have a quick play of it, unplugged of course (heaven forbid you let the pissed punter play something) and it has a beautiful feel to it - more on this later. He also gave me contact details for Piers Crocker, which I will post when I've sobered up. Thankyou and goodnight, Rod.
