Shares sonic similarities with HOB and Refomation, but more experimental and noisy. Great stream-of-consciousness type lyrics. I paid for a signed copy of the Tour Poster and forgot to even give the CD's a really close look. Boy do I regret that. I guess the silver lining is I still haven't spent the cash. Space Saviour Posts: 2161 (04/11/2002 03:33) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	tygs in space (all lowercase folk) is definitely worth picking up if its available on the tour - its not an easy cd to find - so make the most of it at Marty's merchandise table. Tim has a really good voice which you may not get to hear too well during the tour but is quite evident on this album. Have been waiting ages for Tyg 2 if Tim ever gets a free moment to himself Sue C

I would describe it as Sonic Youth meets Coldplay. I'm hoping for a Tim Powles vocal track on the next Church album. I wish I would have picked up the Gypsy Stomp single at the show, but it slipped my mind... David

Posts: 46 (04/27/2002 07:05) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Remove this ad I attended the Ram's Head show on Thursday night, but I arrived 4 1/2 hours early to take advantage of merchandise and meeting the boys before the crowds came in. I'm glad I did. Marty and spoke for about 20-30 minutes at around 4:30 PM and he mentioned that he has only one TIS CD left out of 500. I immediately bought it. After the show, Tim and I chatted for about 10 minutes about the CD and how he came to make it and why. He said that there were only 500 pressed and that I bought the last known copy that they had control over. Tim signed the CD liner for me. Too cool.... I absolutely love this CD. It's different and interesting lyrically. Tim has a great voice and I also feel that he should do a track on upcoming Church albums alongside Peter and Marty. --RC

I nearly purchased it in Denver and chose Love Era / Irony instead (limited funds at the time). While there is a listing for this album in Church Merch, it indicates that none are available. Hope I haven't completely missed the boat...I was very interested in hearing this. Michael

Tims got so many projects on the run which I've mentioned in the News section...so talented and in demand! And oh yeah, there's that band he's busy with too...The Church Id love to see another tygs release as I think he has a great voice and great melody. Sue

Posts: 0 (12/21/2003 04:19) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Remove this ad Sue, you mentioned on "Seance" that today is Tim's birthday so i did the unthinkable and sent a few words thanking him for what he's done with the Church, and also that I think "tygs in space" is a brilliant album! i also would like to see tygs 2 at some point. all that's been said before is so true. almost my fave solo album of the band. ambience/pop/noise/sonicyouth meets coldplay /harmonies and the production is very similar to the mighty (imo) Refo/HOB/FY trio.
