Steve Kilbey, Peter Koppes, and Tim Powles joined together with this strange moniker to release pharmakoi/distance-crunching honchos with echo units in 1997.
No, this isn't the Church without Marty. This is something altogether different. Each of the three is doing what they do best together. The lyrics of SK are gold. PK's guitar soothes, electrifies. PK with his percussion technique is in fine form.
I bought this album a long time ago. I think I got it on the A Box of Birds tour. I listened to it once or half a time. Sometimes I don't have much patience. Then yesterday, I put it on. I've listened to it four times since. I'm listening to it now.
Here I am at work on the day after Thanksgiving. Most of America is off shopping for the Christmas season. I'm here trying dwelling in my cubicle. Luckily, everyone's out so I can put on my headphones and enjoy tunes very loud.
This is cd is available from www.whammo.com.au and probably many other places. Strangely, I didn't see it available on www.karmichit.com. Maybe I'm blind, but it didn't appear listed.
It seems that many Church fans don't have this cd. Buy it. You're going to love it. I'm getting hooked and lost in it. Each time I listen to it I discover more and more that I like about it.
Why did it take so long? Sometimes I just don't have any patience at all. I buy music, half listen to it, and then file it away. But I'm happy that I'm able to pull something out after so long and discover its merits right off.
