For starters you have 3 new Kilbey tracks, which sit quite nicely with his more recent work... very mellow! 3 Jack Frost songs, one pop, one ramble and one ??? But fantastic all the same. Then the gems that just jump out at you from first listen... US, my first taste of Margot Smith... mmmm And some amazing JLK songs... I mean AMAZING!! But the highlight?? Why its the Twillies!!! Steve and Karin's daughters at the age of 4 singing the "Tricka Tricka Boom Boom Song"!! Honestly can't get this one out of your head (Kylie would be jealous, indeed). They are one of the best dance acts I've heard.They mix ethnic with sci-fi and Morricone style soundtrack vibes. I have a Pieter Bourke cd with Lisa Gerrard ( ex Dead Can Dance....now doing alot of soundtrack music [Gladiator/The Insider]). Karmic Hit must be really proud to have them on board.I really get the impression this is the music SK listens to . jean

Didn't someone mention them as a support for the Church in Liege (9/03)?? I don't think they were very impressed with them... which is unfortunate! *Amanda

Space Saviour Posts: 2161 (03/14/2002 03:46) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Amanda, if you liked US, and this is your first taste of Margot Smith, you really MUST get her 'TASTE' album...in fact, everyone should get it, it features everyone from the band except Marty and the songs are superb, and worth it even for the cover of 'An Arrangement'. The first album 'Sleeping With The Lion' which SK co-produced is magnificent too but sadly deleted now. sorry for my Margot Smith rant..but she is truly a gem! Um, onto the P&R cd, a band which grabbed is Snog but I prefer the song 'Human Germ' which is/was downloadable from the Karmic Hit website. Favorite P&R songs would have to be 'Transmigration', Trilemma and 'Ghost Train'. I may be wrong, but I think that SOMA support was a different band to this one. Susanna

I was having a nose around your Margot Smith site and the official one last week and will definately get hold of a CD... sometimes you just have to wait for these things to cross your path, so that you know that you are ready for them... I think I'm ready for Margot Smith now!! Sad to hear that her first album is out of print (why does this happen so often?). "Transmigration" and "Ghost Train" are probably my favourite tracks at the moment... I will also have to track down some Bhagavard Guitars and other JK material... how could I have overlooked this? *Amanda

If not, let me know. Apparently she was going to be 'big' with EMI but the new management at the time wanted a chance in direction (sk may be able to confirm this) so even tho' some of the execs there loved her, the company ditched her even after an Aria Nomination for 'Best New Talent'...its a cruel world.
