And its wonderful! Certainly fits in with the dreamy early 90s style often called "shoegaze" ( a term I despise!)...but in my opinion transcends any particular genre. Ms. Regan is a superb vocalist, the rhythm section is tighter than a duck's ass (waterproof!) and Marty truly excels in this one-guitar format. Just now I'm thinking how this project in a sense "one-ups" Hex...similar type of song (and both projects feature marvelous writing), but more instrumentally fleshed out, again thanks to the strong rhythm section as well as a fuller production approach. The soaring MWP guitar throughout may have drawn me in, but I'd be interested in hearing this band's other Willson-Piper-less incarnations. I suspect the magic is still there. Sign me up for more! Touched by Jesus is really good, with some wonderful parts by MWP, but Ultraviolet was a change of direction into territory I could really dig. Of course, the critics didn't agree. If it gets a remaster, I'll be picking up a new copy for sure.
