Posts: 5900 (06/04/2007 03:26) Faith Healer Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	what will it be like..how do you imagine it? ... it won't be a nine-day-affair this time i guess... there won't be 80es-drum-machines, i can't imagine it will be so desperate like the songs from the dark days. will it be a darkly sad leonard cohen singer songwriter record? or vast ambient spaces with heartbreaking melodies? will there be guest musicians? SK, the womb decided Neil Finn, Lisa Gerrard and Ed Kuepper will have to turn up. will SK fall in love with the grand piano? will there be....female voices? will it be grinding, dark acid rock? will it reflect personal experience? a heartbreaking homage to Grant McLennan? a wide open road... So what do we know about it? it's in the making, that's for sure. And I'd bet he'll paint the artwork. And I bet it'll be recorded at Karmic Hit and JLK's going to record the vocals. And I'm VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY excited about the first solo album since...remindlessness (Dabble was a sketch book, Narcosis and its various sucessors were ... an EP plus plus plus....) Very excited. Dabble 2 might not be bad, as Dabble felt so much better when I listened it after Mimesis recently. It put me into right frame of mind and Dabble flowed nicely after that. Chrome3d testbench

So I just try to not ponder it too much and just accept it for what it is. I do find that I have to be in the mood to hear something new though...if my mood isn't right I put off taking that first listen until I'm ready for it. Often it's just a day or two, but sometimes I have to wait weeks or even months before I'm in the right frame of mind. KIABGOA

And of course I won't wait for months and weeks to listen to it. If i'm not in the mood, then the record will better get me into the mood. I've been waiting for 6 years to hear "Nightmare" and "Fog", 6 years for the Narcosis EP, 3 years for Iridescence, I've been traveling through Scotland with MATS in my backpack (i picked it up in Aberdeen, no way to buy it in germany in 1996), without a CD player ANYWHERE, so I'm definitely done with waiting. ...because strange is what we need Fandorinfotos

My Mimesis Cd is in the post, and I am quite anxious to hear it. Dabble I don't like, with the exception of three/four songs that sound fully realized- the rest sound like unfinished demo fragments to me, and SK sounds most unenthused on a lot of it. Still, the first and last tracks alone are worth the purchase price- I just think the whole thing is below his usual high standard.

Once at SK's vegan festival performance and once at the SKvs MWP show in December. Its a real rocker and cant wait to hear it given the full treatment. Lyrics are something like this.
