I was reading a newspaper today and there was an add for The Divinyls playing in December with The Church supporting in Melbourne at the Forum Theatre. This is bound to be a great show. The singer was portrayed as a creature more sensual than Anais Nin. Her lips were prominently featured in videos much to the delight of teen boys the world over. Beyond their global hit they had a few good songs which I can vaguely recall. I'm guessing they were in the limelight a shade more in the land of Oz. across the endless sky we are deployed

Listened to a Divinyls record today, and was pleasantly surprised. They seem to have a knack for gracefully aging rock ladies.... Chrissie Amphlete and Mark McEntee are a pretty awesome duo and wrote some classic "Oz Rock" - They had a crazy relationship for a long time - The guy is a great guitarist and thier drummer whose name eacapes me is also great. He is married to CE and was / is also the drummer with Keith Richards band The expensive wino's. Her pleasure and pain bio is a good read - loadsa sex, drugs and R&R. Divynals had a close relationship with concrete blonde and Johnette Napolitano a great singer and write imo and I saw these 2 bands on the same bll on concrete blondes first early tours or OZ - after all that yeah i have talked myself into, and without no doubt i just love the forum as its may favourite venue ever...... I was down in the city on a miracle street.......... PDA
