All suggestions will be read. Constructive criticism is what I'm trawling for. Positive reinforcement is welcome also. As such I've come to know a great many people from around the globe. The open discussion threads are, in my opinion, a wonderful place to exchange ideas. I registered as a user a while back but haven't done that much posting until recently, just because it wasn't really my style... I think I like just about everything about the site except for the pictures at the top of the pages, which seem redundant. I like the idea of keeping the topics for discussion pretty open and sprawling, as they are now. The idea is that you have a loose community based on interest in the band. But we're so much more than that, right? So there's no need for an over-narrow focus. Much as we like the music, there's maybe only so much each of us has to say about the Church each day. It's nice to have a place to talk about other things, though.

I like the relationships that have built over time, the information, celebrating the best band on earth of course. 2. What do you DISLIKE about the site? The occasional petty bickering - discussions should not turn personal. The slower traffic these days. Good Wombers lost to time. 3. What, if any, changes would you like to see here? A bit of consolidation of the different areas. The traffic doesn't really warrant all the different rooms in the hotel. Its nice & organized, but could a couple of the areas be paired down? 4. Which forums do you find the most enjoyable, informative, apropos, or interesting? Welcome / News / Feast / Lounge are the main areas I check out. The other areas I won't initiate a thread, but will check them out on occasion if someone has posted. 5. Which forums do you not care for? The less travelled forums that can probably be paired down. 6. How can we make the site more to your liking? I'm not a huge fan of the colors of the site. It changed a few years back from a black format if I remember correctly. This is so trivial & may not be worthy of a mention, but I did like the appearance of the old womb. Also, a bit of forum consolidation to centralize more people for discussion. 7. What are your views on 'The Lounge'? * a. Do you like the inclusion of a non-Church discussion space? Definately like. If there wasn't a space for it, it will be in other areas of the womb. 8. How do you feel about the moderation of the site? Well done & fair.

Like Ive said many times before: constant number of posts/page. Choose 20 or 25 for both logged and not logged in users. 4. Which forums do you find the most enjoyable, informative, apropos, or interesting? Feast, Why Dont You Love Me, Youre still beautiful. Lyrics, discography and solo-forums are good too but theres just no traffic. 5. Which forums do you not care for? I dont go to gigs but others do...Memories in future tense and Afterimage could be united to one gig-forum to give it more power. Those two have no traffic. Lounge I dont care, but there seems to be traffic so I occasionally read it. 6. How can we make the site more to your liking? Statistics for number of daily users, number of daily threads and posts. List of most recent posts in the bottom of the page. Other sites have it. List of active members and number of their posts. Other sites have that too. 7. What are your views on 'The Lounge'? * a. Do you like the inclusion of a non-Church discussion space? I couldnt care less about US-centric politics and Bush-bashing or whatever. Others seem to care and its okay that there is a place for it because then those subjects sneak into all other threads. 8. How do you feel about the moderation of the site? OK. Keep up the good work!

Remember that not everyone visits this place everyday. Also, a proper reply to some of your questions might require some tought. I've been very vocal in the past about some aspects of HW (and an older incarnation of myself instigated and implemented some prior changes), so my opinions are for the most part known, however I might try to collect them for this thread. Something I do have to say now: Change the dun background (like the one this post appears on). There isn't enough contrast between sand-colored text and the dull brownish background, a darker (navy blue?) alternating background would be better. The idea of alternating background colors is good, keep that, but change the colors. Finally... that you selected those questions implies that you think those are the relevant topics, then you must have an opinion, thus... why don't you go ahead and post your answers to your questions? (now, end of week, later, but please do). Everybody has opinions: I have them, you have them. And we are all told from the moment we open our eyes, that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. I travel a lot and logging in is a pain when not on your own computer which is already set up just right. at least for me it is. 3. What, if any, changes would you like to see here? none 4. Stefan intoned the Church deserve a site which echoes the elegance of their music. I concur. Admittedly, this is a discussion page and not a cathedral. The owners change themes frequently, and I believe there are downloadable theme packages or something not unlike the "pimped" Myspace profiles where you can have pattered backgrounds, banners, and new post indicators. Or maybe some of you already know where such things can be found online?

How do you feel about the moderation of the site? HW is a great discussion board for our favorite band and a good place to get to know other fans. I've met many great people through this board, gotten some great trades, been kept up to date on Churchy events, etc. For me, the negatives of HW historically (over the last 5 years) have been almost exclusively related to the bickering, arguing and ugliness resulting from our differing world views & understandings of world events and cultures, and our collective inability to discuss these things in an upbuilding or constructive way. I don't exclude my past behavior from that description. Many great people left the womb because of this. With the approach of the 2008 elections in the US, I worry that this may become a place to avoid again for another few years - I'll have to wait and see. Since many of us have made efforts to be more polite in our discussions, I think we've made improvement. My issue now is that politics and world discussions are almost exclusively revolving around the United States, rather than being a well rounded discussion of our world. I don't want to see the lounge removed, but wish there were a way to help people outside of the US see that the world is bigger than just the US. Rather than knowing before I sign on that there will only be attacks on the US, it would be refreshing to learn about other people's perspectives on the rest of our world. Or if we must always discuss the US, it would be helpful if posters could recognize the positives too, rather than always focusing on negatives. Positives & negatives = well rounded, honest discussion. All negative = hateful bashing & prejudice. This very thing drove me away from here for 2 years or so, and many others as well. Balanced discussion would serve the purposes of honesty as well as unity, better. Other than the above (which requires efforts of the members, not changes in forum software or moderation) I don't have any complaints. I tend to visit FEAST, LOUNGE, YOU'RE STILL BEAUTIFUL, GRANDIOSE, VOLUMES/WOMB MUSIC & WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME/OTHER ARTISTS the most. I think it would be more helpful to have Womb music merged back with Other Artists. And MYTHS YOU MADE merged with FEAST as well. There used to be a few issues with moderation that occasionally crept up when there were conflicts of interests, but that seems resolved and things are smooth for now. Test posts, muso stuff, other sites, other wombers music, advice 6. How can we make the site more to your liking? It;s pretty good as it is. It just needs to be a little more concise 7. It's the "go to" place for Church news and commentary, far more so (sadly) than the official site. I also cherish the Womb community, in all its strange, prickly, generally intelligent and undoubtedly disturbed permutations. 2. What do you DISLIKE about the site? Nothing really. Perhaps all the naval gazing about what should or should not be acceptable here, but I don't engage much in that these days. 3. What, if any, changes would you like to see here? I like this new format I just found logging in today...much more user-friendly. But I think this place changes all the time, rather organically. No need to radically rethink the Womb or anything. 4. Which forums do you find the most enjoyable, informative, apropos, or interesting? I always check Feast and the Myths You Made. The "other artists" forum has some good informative posts. I do like the Forum (see below), like to see pictures of people and places, like the "general" forum as well. The press / reviews forum is an excellent resource. 5. Which forums do you not care for? None really, although I don't go into the tour-related forums much when the band is inactive. Actually, I don't go into the lyrics forum very much -- surprisingly, as much as I like Church lyrics, but ultimately seems more useful to just listen to the lyrics than to discuss them. 6. How can we make the site more to your liking? I wish there was a more regular flow of new posts to check out...not that I've been much help in that regard lately. People are just busy. 7. What are your views on 'The Lounge'? * I consider the Lounge a guilty pleasure. "Hmmm, what are Brian and Fernando fighting about today?" Lately I've learned that Yessica did something scandalous, although I couldn't quite figure out what. I read the tabloid covers in the grocery store check-out aisle too. a. Do you like the inclusion of a non-Church discussion space? I'm fine with it. Let's not forget what drove creation of the Lounge in the first place -- the desire to keep this content out of the Feast. The space is there for those that want to use it; others can ignore it. Best of both worlds. 8. How do you feel about the moderation of the site? I think the moderation is generally fair.
