There are a lot of b-sides going way back (thru Hindsight) that haven't been re-released. Will it be mostly newer unreleased stuff? I read somewhere that it will be released in October IIRC? Double album? Including the I-Tunes cuts? Looking forward to it either way in any case. b

I'm pleased this is coming out in reasonable time after the FY album, especially as the extra tracks were fairly difficult for many to obtain. Still haven't got around to ordering jammed so this will be a good opportunity to order both at once and save on P+P.

It's a Jazz type thing, mostly instrumental and electronic mixed with traditional acoustic jazz instruments, and then there's Portishead and Tricky. I think Steve's voice would lend itself well to some acid jazz/trip hop type stuff like that, then there's this song on the new album called "Jazz." Would be cool if it's something like that. b

I tried placing the order twice and never got confirmation if it was approved. I finally gave up trying. And what is with the increased cost? It is now costing over 30 (U.S. $) that is getting pretty steap, it better be worth it.

Maven Posts: 15 (10/05/2004 09:39) Maven Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	...i have to second that difficulty with ordering from their store, too - i kept trying to place my order only have the worldpay server crash on me...it may well not be churchmerch's fault, though - the problem could be on the worldpay side of things...i'm going to email them... ...still, AU$45 for a CD after shipping?..that converts to about US$33, which may seem a bit steep...my perception of CD pricing seems permanently latched to what i paid when i first started buying CDs in the late eighties, though - US$16 for a single album, US$32 for a double album...back in the day imports were quite the rarity, too, and always commanded a premium of about US$22, which actually converts to AU$30... ...so really the pricing of 'beside yourself' exclusive of shipping doesn't set off my rip-off meter, but i guess that dates me a bit since most of my friends a half generation or so younger than me think anything over US$12 is extortion!..

Usually much less. I have made several purchases at Church Merch with no problems, and will continue to do so. I can easily pay $30+ for a Church release because I know I'm getting quality. neomaniac in a cul de sac drumwise

The prices ranged from $26.99 USD to $34.99 USD without shipping (at least $3 USD from what I remember). So it doesn't seem outrageous to me. But I also don't find that $35 USD is that much to pay for a CD of a band I care for as much as The Church. To me it's worth every penny. I also encourage anyone who has problems ordering or recieving delivery of orders from the church merch to email them and let them know. KIABGOA

So it seems to be on "general" release after all, at the BARGAIN price of $AU 29! It's available here from HMV Oz, but we all know that HMV are a fricken rip off. As for the collection itself, it flows quite beautifully for such a diverse bunch of songs...the opener, "Jazz", is a lovely, languid piece kinda like "Louisiana"...but kinda not. I'll need a few more listens to absorb the other newies, but they all sound pretty damn good. I may find myself skipping "Moodertronic", and I may not make it all the way thru "Serpent Easy" every time, but I think I'll like this one a lot. And maybe you will too... I really need a decent sig.

As for the pricing, it is a bit steep, but not much more than I have paid for imports in the past. Besides, I'd rather order through churchmerch since more of the money actually goes to the band. I just think it's cool that their music is made available at all. I haven't had any problems with the churchmerch, in fact they respond to questions in detail when asked. This has been my experience. If I had had the troubles that others describe perhaps I would feel different too. b
