Re: Church Album Reissues on Second Motion Records (reply) I don't think that the later albums need any upgrade and they wouldn't be bestsellers anyway. Still I have enjoyed Marty's notes quite a lot and I wouldn't mind if he wrote something about the later albums as well. I have found the liner notes to be much ... |

Re: Church Album Reissues on Second Motion Records (reply) According to Stephen at Second Motion, the label won't release GAF and P=A w/ liner notes in the USA until The Church tours the country again. Don't know when that's going to happen. So for now, Church Merch is the only source to buy these discs (that I ... |

Re: When did the band lose capital letters? (reply) i honestly don't bloody care about that. They're a really capital band, and the fuss they are making about the spelling belongs to the more ridiculous side of The Church, or the church or T.H.E. C.H.U.R.C.H. - i always liked SK's spelling on the solo ... |

Re: When did the band lose capital letters? (reply) I also had no idea that the church was the anointed spelling. In penance I have made a point to always write it in lowercase since I learned of this. P.S. however I still have to edit my iTunes rips to have the correct spelling of the band name. |

Re: the church: the golden years... (reply) How old are The Rolling Stones? If they can keep going for so long I don't see why the church can't go on for even longer. Here's to seeing them gain an entry in the Guiness World Records book for being the band active for the longest time. |

Re: Church Album Reissues on Second Motion Records (reply) So, any news how long this reissue program will continue? Starfish, GAF and P=A are available now, not from Second Motion though. Will there be Sometime Anywhere? MATS? HOB? all of them with liner notes and stuff. |

Re: SK's formative five (reply) Thanks for the link! Wow, what a great show....an intimate discussion with Steve about his formative influences, more than an hour long. To let the cat out of the bag, the songs are by Big Star, Lou Reed, T Rex, George Harrison and Bowie. Definitely check ... |

Re: the church: the golden years... (reply) I don't Know, after just seeing them perform at tweed heads and the three album set at the powerhouse, they still looked and sounded as good as ever. Going strong well and truly. Maybe they will each concentrate on their solo works more or less, but ... |

Re: the church: the golden years... (reply) They will keep going until one of them dies. When AENT came out, they had survived the dark times when 99/100 bands disappear and scatter, with the band members often having second careers in the real world. They love making music, are comfortable with ... |

Re: the church: the golden years... (reply) The way they have been churning out stuff recently, I expected a new album by now so maybe they are 'wrapping things up'. It mightn't be such a bad thing because we all know things are better when they are gone. Philosophically speaking, of course; I ... |

Re: the church: the golden years... (reply) Maybe BANNED here fears that some band members have to do Mark E Smith-gigs soon and shatter their image completely. Going on stage sitting in a wheelchair after a hip replacement and mumbling incoherently. |
