Transient Posts: 3 (12/30/2011 22:02) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None Remove this ad I thought I'd like to see (and try a playlist, listened to on headphones w/ dim lighting) the top 15 songs (<---pseudo album length) where the music, singing, lyrics, etc take you off on flights. Criteria: 1. Nostalgia doesn't count. You may have great memories that take you somewhere when listening to particular songs. Unfortunately, I don't have those memories 2. If you can't decide on a order, then try weaving them so that you take me (us) on a journey 3. Any period or mood will do... dark... spacey....acoustic... etc 4. Finally, limit the list to Church releases... (No side projects... at least at this point! I've been upgrading my audiophile listening equipment, and would love to kick start 2012 on this spacemindscape journey. Will you join??? -Dre

New year, new thoughts. 15 songs is quite long with the church song durations and these playlists will clock over 1,5 hours. I'm still working on one playlist that has some mood overlap with the ambient float- playlist but is still different. Ambient float 15: 1. Saturation 2. The Dead Man's Dream 3. Moon Hangs In Black 4. Tranquility 5. Happy Hunting Ground 6. Old Flame 7. So Love May Find Us 8. I Kept Everything 9. Day 5 10. Snowfaller 11. Reversal 12. 1st Woman on the Moon 13. Avenue 14. Sunken Sun 15. Summer These are the floatiest numbers I could think of. Like living in a soft bubble somwhere out there in vast space. Reversal is often dissed by many but with headphones it's a really wonderfully bubbly, ambient pop number. So Love May Find Us (17mins.) and 1st Woman (11 mins.) will test your patience but if you endure those then this playlist is your bag. The Great Machine 9. The Disillusionist 10. Freeze to Burn 11. We are Lost 12. Why Don't You Love Me 13. Lay Low 14. This Is It 15. Chaos Or some may say that these are the stinkers of their albums. Still these songs are necessary in many albums. They take you on a journey to asylum all right. Heavy on the repetitive suicidal dark black 90's stuff. Of course it ends with Chaos. Macabre Tavern might be included but it's not that interesting. All these songs actually have some idea and grandiose visions, they are not always fulfilled though. 1,5 hours of these might be too much late at night. Last Edited By: chrome3D 01/01/2012 22:43. Flying in every way, low altitudes near the coast in summer or flying through space far away from earth. Some songs, Fly and Maya for example, might have been okay to be included in the ambient playlist. Still these songs are different from the ambient ones, the drums have more presence, guitars have more fuzz and muscle and the songs have a sense of direction and journey. A smooth start) After Everything Dakota Crash Ride Month of Sundays Maya Tantalized Seen It Coming Under the Milky Way Radiant 1934 [Remix] Essence Aura Louisiana Operetta Twin Star (this one is so extra spacey with headphones)

I have actually heard to this one with headphones, with dim lights, and it is an aural trip. I have never used any psychoactive substances (beyond the sublime caffeine and the evil nicotine), but this extended jam does take me places.
