Just as we were leaving my home here in the Rockies and heading back to Denver, we were both complaining about how I didn't bring a Church cd for our roadtrip back. The moment we left and hit the highway, the local station played UTMW. It was both surreal and fate that played that song. It was a message. We were both speechless. Duane

Worth, TX and as soon as I stepped off the plane I heard "Reptile" over the airport p.a....never expected to hear The Church in an airport! Must be some kind of karma that SK is spreading around while navigating the airports of the world....

Columbus Posts: 814 (06/07/2006 14:01) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	knew a kid in college had a list of a dallas radio station's top 500 songs. reptile was pretty high up there. you know southwest desert... easy sell. she sells sanctuary was # 1. by the way, the boys down the hall would get drunk and play reptile. they never played any other song by the band. that was right before they shaved the passed out guy's ass. i got a premonition the dallas audience will be predictably audibly jonesin' for reptile, maybe even it's b-side, texas moon, which maybe why reptile is so popular in dallas. reissue that single specifically for the dallas market and then get the hell outta there. "lost my fancy vest and both my kidneys " ENOUGH. i need something ta do.

Surely, I thought, some young, up and coming country band had covered it, but no, it was the church!

They said they checked out the band just to suck up, but after listening decided the music was great (no shock there). So in my classsroom during a student presentation is the strangest place for me.

Not that I wouldn't expect ever to hear them on the radio, but because of the program where they were mentioned. It was a mexican AM radio talk show, they talk about almost anything, but rarely about music, and I rarely hear that program actually. That time I listened they were talking about music, specifically about great cover versions of great songs, one of the hosts said that The Church were an excellent band. They played Sia's cover of Under the MilKY Way as an example of great covers. Which technically means that I actually didn't hear The Church in such an unexpected way, I only heard only one of their songs, so again, maybe it wasn't. Drugs are for losers who weren't cool enough to be born weird. Kibo

(recommended, not recommended as a surprise) for some it can be very relaxing but for my imagination it was rather intense and graphic.. lot of stuff in the subconscious.. so I walked out rather disjointed, shaken and stirred.. so I figured Id walked it off.. stopped into a cafe to get a drink.. and then UTMW comes on.. It grounded me at a time of crucial need.. and never sounded better.. blessed..

After the show, I was walking through the Hard Rock Hotel lobby and "The Unguarded Moment" was blaring over the PA. It put a smile on my face and I couldn't quit humming it for rest of the evening. I know "The Unguarded Moment" was a hit in Australia, but I don't think I have ever heard it in a public setting. It sounded quite good and I don't see why it isn't played on classic rock radio stations in the US. KSP

About two weeks before Christmas, as I was driving into the carpark of the Hypermarket (shopping centre), I heard UTMW on the radio. Then while I was inside, the same song was played over the centres system, which I thought wow that's a bit weird hearing it that close together, but not twenty minutes later, while I was down the road in Bunnings (hardware) it was playing again. I read in some off the earlier posts that some have heard 'Reptile' at airports and cafes and such, oh what I would give to hear that song played in an Australian shopping centre.
