Chrome, thank you for The Mummers----brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Think Björk and the Guillemots trying to play soul in a south english folk club...

I've seen the Walkabouts several times 1992-1995 - they were semi popular in German indie circles who were interested in americana (=i knew them and turned
some friends on). Chris Eckman is a lovely guy. Carla is the opposite of ravishing, but once she opens her mouth, she's beautiful. They had one of the best
drummers i've ever seen, a lady named Terri Moeller.

Hey, what is this baroque pop attack? I have listened Tindersticks II twice now and it´s an excellent album that I feel will grow in the future even more.
Thanks Thanks! I will check out Cloud Cult An The Walkabouts some day soon.
The Mummers, yeah, you have Fando been silent about it for a long time and I didn´t knew what you were thinking about it. It´s an album that doesn´t need much growing. It´s a full experience in the magic forest right from the start.

Over the Rhine (one of my top 10, make that top 5 bands of all time):
I like the heart sequence near the end. fan video for 'Latter Days': 'Latter Days' live (Stefan, she is exactly as you described the singer from Walkabouts... once she begins singing she is a ravishing angel:

over the rhine! When one of my best students died 3 years ago, I dropped a line in the eulogy that only a OtR fan would have known. I am nearly positive that
not one amongst the 500+ people got. But I repeated the line, "The world can wait." Camel, did you see the message I left for ima? December 19th,
we need to meet up and see OtR.
jim has finally been "born," and now he must witness over the rhine. me, it's been too long, too. seriously, since 94, back in the hordinski days! |

Steve, you don't know how broke I am! God, I would love to be there though. I've seen them so many times in every imaginable format: acoustic duo, jazz
ensemble, bluegrass, and, of course, as full-on electric rock gods.
Karin singing 'Lifelong Fling' with the electric band... the whole place was pulsing in a sexual groove. It was ripe and unforgettable.

I'm just a Seattle stranger....Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain were some really nice guys and I met both of them. Check out the new Alice in Chains album.
"Black Gives Way To Blue"...Elton John plays piano on the title track!

Very good album, somewhere between the Fleet Foxes and the dramatic power of the early Waterboys.. |
