iPad GarageBand and The Church's Music

Has anyone on here made any renditions of Church song's utilizing the iPad App GarageBand yet? If so I would love to see/hear some of your creations. It's amazing to see what people have done with the App in the short time....I like the creativity it presents to someone and affords them all the creative outlet they need or to foster the building blocks to the next great band/artist. Like a young Steve Kilbey and a 4 track....someone is out there and that app will show them that they too can be and artist and create wonderful music.

Im going through a Gold Afternoon Fix sort of stage atm

Have looked on the net and could not find the chords for this one 'Transient'

After seeing their concert at Brissy recently am now keen to play some more of their wonderful music again.

i've been listening to GAF a lot and thinking about what a cool song "Essence" is. as with most Church songs, there are a lot of guitar parts going on at the same time. but these shapes will get you going -

for the intro and verses ("the universe is female…."), arpeggiate this Asus4 fingering with a circular, Peter Buck feel (think "Pretty Persuasion" but slower):

the droning open A string in the bass, the two high E's in unison (along with some tasty chorus and analog delay, for you electric players) give it that chimey signature….

now the chorus chords:

Cadd9 -- x32030 ("i'll prove her existence in")

Bsus4 -- x24400 ("everything")

Dsus2 -- x00230 ("the soul of her river and")

Fmaj7 -- x33210 ("stones")

and the bridge chord:

Was working the song out last night and today, because I am currently obsessed with it and I thing I have the progression down if anyone is interested.

Anyway, the verse is Em,G,D,Am; and the Chorus is Em,G,D,C.

In other words the only thing that changes is on the "Everything is hurting me" line you change to a C. If you listen closely, it's not a C major exactly. It's somewhat dissonant. If I had to guess, I would say a C (or major variant) is being played with possibly a Bm (or variant) behind it lower in the mix.

Great song.

Stolen Guitar - In the late 80's, one of Marty Willson-Piper's prized Rickenbacker guitars was stolen from the New York Management office. The serial number of this guitar was EB157. This website below (that attempts to document all of the 1993 Rose Morris guitars) also has an EB156 shown -the next one to Marty's stolen guitar - showing exactly how it looked, with a little bit of wear and tear.

Keep an eye out for Marty's beautiful guitar and contact us if you have any information on it's whereabouts or ever come across it in your travels!
