There is a new album of 4 tracks called Asleep In The Downlights. It could be called an EP. About 22 minutes of stuff. It kinda appeared out of nowhere.

At first listen it sounded quite okay, like Kilbey Kennedy or Mimesis. At least the first song, which is the only one where SK sings. I ordered the CD, which was quite cheap. $8 + 3,5 for shipping. Bandcamp rules.

what i hope to achieve with sk premium is manifold i guess

it will start off nebulous as is my want

it has already started off

a few already are subscribed and receiving download codes

well i have a lotta stuff up my sleeve

in many formats and in many stages of completion

dvds cds books etc etc

the sk premium people will get first and cheaper access to this

because they are like executive producers helping me to assemble

this lifetime of work i must get it out there i suppose

i dont know why

i didnt start doing this for money

but ive made a living and im grateful

this premium package is designed therefore

to satisfy both of us

it will be flexible it will be understanding it will be fair

it is not there to fleece...

Maybe this has been discussed elsewhere already. But I was wondering if someone could provide a little description of the contents of Steve Kilbey's Monsters n Mirages box set...? Not the music, but the artwork, the liner notes, and overall packaging. Ie., how much of Kilbey's written stuff is in there? Is it long essays, or is it more like just a short comment about each album/song...?

I was looking at a pic of another Fave artist (Walter Schreifels of Rival Schools, Walking Concert, Quicksand, Gorilla Bisuits, CIV etc http://www.myspace.com/walterschreifelsmusic ) and I noticed the pic below, featured in an ad with a headline that is also a song title of our man Marty.

does the pic remind anyone else of a young Marty, in a pose that is also familiar from one of his record covers ?

or is it just me?

Coming to a screen near you. The Kilbey Kennedy live DVD went off to the pressing plant today..

Not sure I added the photo correctly -- it's showing up for me, but I'm not sure it will when I log off. I did follow the directions but it didn't seem to work as it was supposed to, so I don't know.... Oh well, if it isn't there and you are dying to see it you can go to the KK Facebook page and fnd it there.

So what is this actually...i'm highly intrigued. All I know is D.N. is apparently SK's alter ego...a fictional musician...and they say on Rick Maymi's wikipedia page:

"He has recently recorded an album with Steve Kilbey of The Church entitled "David Neil", which is to be released in 2010."
