Hey all, first post here. I love The Church... remember first hearing Starfish in 1988 when I was in high school and loved them ever since.

Anyway, once when I was browsing the net, I ran across a live performance video where they were playing at a radio station studio. It was from a couple of years back I think, definitely not too long ago cuz they were all gray haired looking :-) I know they played NSEW for one song. Does anyone have any idea about where I could find that video? I know I'm sketchy on the details, but maybe somebody out there knows what I'm talking about.

8 ep´s will have matches against each other during 7 rounds.
If you are unfamiliar with all the b-sides and remixes you can always vote for the lead song only.
Unified Field and 0408 were promos and had less than 3 songs.

Rules are simple:
- Copy/paste the match list
- Delete the loser and leave the winner
- Game will be updated in mondays, wednesdays and fridays
- Game will last about 2,5 weeks

With Monsters & Mirages out there now, and the back catalogue remasters coming, assuming everyone on this forum has the back catalogue, would there be an interest if Second Motion released a boxset of the albums if they added a bonus disc or 3 of added extras? Here's a dream tracklist.

New titles in Hotel Womb

In order to get more variation in Hotel womb we have created new set of titles for the users in Hotel Womb. The title is displayed under your avatar on the left side of your posts. The table for titles looks like this:

0-10 posts: Transient
10-50 posts: Maven
50-100 posts: Glow worm
100-200 posts: Pantechnicon
200-400 posts: Perfect child
400-700 posts: Snowfaller
700-1000 posts: Columbus
1000+ posts: Space saviour

moderator: Faith healer

The first 3 titles are the same as before but then there are 5 new ones for the advanced glow worms who have gone beyond 100 posts. The ultimate title for non-moderator user is "Space Saviour", which frankly is so cool title that I might want to use that myself.

If you have advanced beyond 100 posts all you need to do is login and the new title is yours. I´m not sure if you need to post something too before it works.

Question about releases

do Australian released CD's play in US? Wasn't sure if a different format. I know there are DVD's in diff. format but wasn't sure if CD's all played everyplace. I assume they do, but wanted to double check. Maybe I am wrong? dunno. thanks in advance.

Hi there,

It pains me more than anyone can imagine that I have to give up my 2 tickets for the City Winery show on Thursday 22nd April.
I had planned to fly over from Barcelona and thanks to a bloody volcano (could ye fathom it?) I probably won't be able to go.

looking for church posters. mostly from the Starfish era. I have 3, the album cover, one that advertises Under The Milky Way single and anther from the Fillmore show. are there anymore out there from this same period? whatcha got?

Is the Church's music magical? Do you consider yourself drawn to magic?

Without trying to hard to define magic do you find yourself drawn to the Church because of the magic? In my case the answer is a definitive yes! I am drawn to many things that evoke the feeling of a magical state of consciousness. Any songs that come to mind?

Fav Church-Related Guitar Solo (!?)

That most un-Churchie of rock 'n' roll cliches - the guitar solo!

Browsing through my iTunes library, I recently realized that I'd somehow neglected to import Marty Willson-Piper's lovely album, Rhyme.

Listening to it again for the first time in a year or more, I was struck by how absolutely gorgeous the guitar solo that closes out 'Forever' is. Without giving it too much thought, the only other solo in the Church (and Church-related) canon that comes to mind that approaches its beauty is the solo that concludes 'Disappear' from Seance.

I'm sure I'm forgetting many others. If you have any particular favourites, I'd love to hear about 'em!

One of my alltime favourite lines in SK's oeuvre is "the mother of the storm has to roam the sky, searching for her child". No, correction, this IS my favourite line ever.
Right now I'm standing up to my neck in russian romantic poets, and there's a great lullaby by Apollon Nikolayevich Maykov...and finally, we have a hint where the storm child has been....the wonderful verses translate roughly (losing their yearning russian melody)
