board's history. (Dave's words are in italics, the rest are mine):

I started it really on a lark. It's been a lot of fun. Besides testing the software for another project I was working on, my one motive was to get a
live version on Tantalized. That's why Happy Hunting Ground was the first forum name I ever came up with. The Womb also coincided with my interest in
marketing (read: not sales) and met my interest in the internet. At the time, I was heavily into reading about the new business models, plans, etc. I tried
many many things.I read many books. I talked to a ton of people. And, I used the Womb as my little playground to try things out. Ultimately, the most
interesting part of the Womb had nothing to do with the music but the community that formed.

with so much heat and energy, the result is something completely unique. Retro without being retro. Nothing sounds like something else, in the way Interpol

The singer sucks, I agree. But he is the one with the muscles and the crop cut!! And what a lovely Tagalog accent, hehehe...

The guitarists do a pretty decent job

The drummer is pretty awesome

The general idea of five Filipinos playing The Church for fun really really cracks me up!! Because I can understand it so well...

So then here is UTMW (doesnt the drummer/singer sound like Koppes on this one?!):
From Portland comes Church (not THE Church) and their new album will be called Song Force Crystal. Their style is not that far from The Church. Avantgarde pop
sort of. Is The Church really that unknown band these days that young kids can take confusingly similar name? It is a good name, so no wonder somebody used it.
It´s also totally un-Googleable name but that doesn´t seem to bother them.

This might bring out some issues in internet sites as The Church is often labelled as Church.
