I don't know the limit of songs in one room but it's not +200. So in the end I decided to include one or two songs that was generally regarded as the best from every album that I could find. Some albums were missing so some songs had to be replaced by songs from Deep In The Shallows-comp. For example there was...

The concept's 19th century origins lie in attempts to account for discontinuities in biogeography; however, the concept of Lemuria has been rendered obsolete by modern theories of plate tectonics. Although sunken continents do exist – like Zealandia in the Pacific and the Kerguelen Plateau in the Indian Ocean – there is no known geological formation under the Indian or Pacific Oceans that corresponds to the hypothetical Lemuria[citation needed].

Though Lemuria is no longer considered a valid scientific hypothesis, it has been adopted by writers involved in the occult, as well as some Tamil writers of India. Accounts of Lemuria differ, but all share a common belief that a continent existed in ancient times and sank beneath the ocean as a result of a geological, often cataclysmic,...

As I mentioned (posted) in the Welcome Forum, I am somewhat new here and have quiet enjoyed going back through the various forums and reading about the band. By the way, to those that welcomed me, thanks. I'm just gonna throw out some thoughts, observations, opinions that don't merit their own specific topic but I felt like sharing so here goes...

It is damned refreshing to see this other side of SK. His speech at the ARIA shindig was quiet captavating. He seemed almost boyish. As enigmatic and mysterious as he has seemed to be through all of these years that I've followed the band (lifer since 85) I thought it was maybe the most human-real spontaneous moment I've seen from him. If anything (MWP's ending quip about losing the mysteriousness) I think it added a whole new level to the man. Preaching to the choir here but it was nice to see what I consider (sans Beatles 65-70) the greatest band and lyricist ever to get oh so deserved recognition.

Have also fallen in love...

Hi fellow Church fans.

I'm a Texas boy, well solidly middle aged guy, that has been a fan of the band since buying Heyday on vinyl way back in '85. Since that time, many bands have come and gone from my personal favorites category but The Church has stood the test of time (well, except for that rut they hit with Sometime Anywhere and the Magician albums, tho' both have worthwhile moments). It's not easy to put into words why they are so damned specical. There's a timeless quality in everything they do and the subtelty in their best work often puts goosebumps on my arms. When I listen and I'm in "the zone" there is a euphoric melancholia that washes over me that no other music that I've heard matches. That feeling, that headspace, that The Church's music opens the door to is what I so appreciate. Real art.

The only regret that I have regarding the band is that I haven't had a chance to see them live as often as I would like. I saw them a few times in 06 and before that...
